It really depends on your lifestyle and what you're looking for! Gel nails tend to look more natural, feel lighter, and are more flexible, which can make them less likely to crack. They’re also often easier on your natural nails when applied and removed properly. Acrylics, on the other hand, are usually stronger and can be better for longer extensions or more dramatic shapes. Both are great — it just comes down to personal preference and how you care for them!

Japanese gel is a premium potted type of gel nail product known for its high-quality ingredients and smooth, long-lasting finish. It’s often thicker than traditional gels that comes in bottles, providing a natural look while still offering strong durability.
Japanese gel is famous for its ability to hold vibrant colors and intricate designs, making it a popular choice for detailed nail art. It’s also known for being gentle on natural nails, as it requires less filing and allows for a more comfortable application process.

Acrylic nails are created by mixing a powder and liquid monomer. They are typically thicker and more durable, making them ideal for longer extensions.
Gel nails, on the other hand, are made from a gel formula that cures under UV or LED lamps. They are thinner and more flexible compared to acrylics, and come in various consistencies, allowing for intricate hand-drawn designs.

Gel nails typically last between 2 to 4 weeks. While some may last longer than 4 weeks, we recommend maintaining a cycle of 3 to 4 weeks for the health of your natural nails. The exact duration can vary depending on your nail condition.

No, dip and gel are two completely different types of nail enhancements.
Dip nails are applied by dipping the nails into a colored powder and sealing it with a bonding solution (glue). Gel nails, on the other hand, use a gel-based product that is brushed on and cured under a UV or LED lamp.
It's also important to note that dip powder often involves different sanitary concerns, especially in salon settings where multiple clients may share the same dipping jar if proper hygiene practices aren't followed.
At Artiq Studio, we specialize in gel services because they offer a more natural feel, beautiful finish, and allow for detailed, hand-drawn designs while prioritizing nail health.

Technically, "Builder Gel" is a product name used by certain brands. While we don't carry a specific product called "Builder Gel," the term is widely used to describe any gel that helps build, add strength, or provide length to the nails. It’s often used for creating extensions or reinforcing the nail’s structure, which is a service we offer.

We do not offer gel nail service to children under 15 years old.
Gel nails are generally safe for adults when applied and removed properly. However, for children, especially those under 12, their nails are still developing and remain softer, which makes gel products a less suitable option.
The chemicals in gel formulas, as well as other products we use, can be too harsh for younger, thinner, and more sensitive nails.
Because of these reasons, at Artiq Studio, we recommend sticking with gentler, less permanent options for kids, such as nail polishes, which are easier to remove and less likely to harm their nails.
